Courts to Consider Blocking of Three More Websites
Baku / 08.08.18 / Turan: Today in the courts of Azerbaijan, the appeals of the Electronic Security Center of the Ministry of Communications on the blocking of websites xural.com, arqument.az and monitortv.info will be considered. This was reported by the website managers themselves.
They were warned about the need to withdraw publications criticizing the Presidential Aide Ali Hasanov. However, the heads of the websites note that they did not allow insults and libel, and the materials themselves were only of a critical nature.
The editor-in-chief of xural.com Avaz Zeynalli said he did not receive a warning from the Electronic Security Center.
Earlier, on similar grounds the Sabail court decided to block the website Az24saat.org.
The practice of blocking websites began in Azerbaijan in the spring of 2017 when access to the web resources of the Azerbaijani service of Radio Liberty, MeydanTV, the Azadlig newspaper, Turan TV and the Azerbaijan Saaty program was blocked.
Amendments to the legislation allowing the blocking of websites were adopted in March 2017. -03C06--
