Baku / 23.10.17 / Turan: The Investigatory Directorate for Serious Crimes of the Prosecutor General"s Office filed a criminal investigation into the escape of prisoners transported to Baku. The escape occurred on October 23 from the Astara-Baku train from a special-purpose car with appropriate security, the Penitentiary Service reports.

Prisoners Escape from Train
Baku / 23.10.17 / Turan: Two prisoners escaped from the train that was carrying them from Baku to Shirvan. They managed to escape when the train was at the station of Bileceri.
Law enforcement agencies report that the escaped are Etibar Alekper Oglu Mammadov born in 1980 and Ali Rasim Oglu Agami born in 1983.
Mammadov is charged under Article 234.4.3 of the Criminal Code (the sale of drugs on a large scale), and Agami is charged under Article 120.2.2 of the Criminal Code (murder out of hooliganism) and 228 (illegal possession of firearms). -0---

A fire has erupted at the Experimental and Testing Production of the Scientific Research Institute of SOCAR (the state oil company) in the Surakhani district of Baku, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. "Thanks to the urgent and necessary measures taken by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the spread of the fire to neighboring areas, including nearby residential buildings, has been prevented," the statement reads. Efforts to extinguish the fire are still ongoing.
