Elchin Behbudov Meets with Detained Believers
The head of the Committee against Torture Elchin Behbudov visited the Sabunchu district police office, where he met with the 5 believers detained yesterday.
As Behbudov told Turan, the detainees said they were not subjected to ill treatment in the police.
In turn, the chief of police said that on November 5 at 22:30 Elchin Gasimli, akhund of the mosque Hazrat Abbas, was brought to the police. The reason for the detention was an insult to the police.
After that, about 50 people gathered before the police department and began to violate public order. In this connection, the police took an action and several people were detained.
The chief told Behbudov the detainees will be brought to administrative responsibility and stand before the court.
With regard to Gasimli, he was not in the police at the time of Behbudov’s visit. Where he was Behbudov did not say.
Meanwhile, the lawyer Javad Javadov told Turan he was not allowed to his client. -05B-
