Fate of Criminal Authority Nadir Salifov Detained in Turkey Still Unclear
Istanbul / 10.27.18 / Turan: The criminal authority Nadir Salifov, who was detained in Istanbul on October 8, has not yet been deported or released.
As it became known to Turan from sources in the Turkish police, Salifov, known by the nickname Lotu Guli, was sent from Istanbul to the regional migration center of the Tekirdag province yesterday.
According to the same source, this is connected with the investigation of a crime committed in Edirne, near the border of Bulgaria, several years ago. According to reports, the police intend to interrogate Salifov about his involvement in the "bloody mafia conflict".
It should be noted that Salifov was never officially charged.
Earlier, the Russian authorities requested the extradition of Salifov, accused of extortion from Russian entrepreneurs.
A native of Georgia, ethnic Azerbaijani Nadir Salifov is considered one of the most influential criminal authorities in the CIS space. In Azerbaijan, he was sentenced to long terms for serious crimes. A year ago, he was unexpectedly released on parole and immediately left for Turkey. -02D-
