State Security Service: Editor of Realliq.info Website Prosecuted
Baku / 10.27.18 / Turan: The State Security Service (SSS) confirmed on Saturday that it detained Ikram Rahimov, editor of the realliq.info website.
In the SSS report, it was noted that Ikram Rahimov was detained as a suspect of committing crimes provided for under articles 182.2.1 and 182.2.2 (blackmail by a group of persons by prior agreement) of the Criminal Code.
According to the SSS, Rahimov was engaged in racketeering, demanding money from citizens and businessmen in order not to publish disgraceful and slanderous information about them.
The SSS claims that as a result of operational measures, a number of criminal acts committed by Rahimov and persons connected with him have been established.
Recall that Rahimov was detained by a group of people in civilian clothes the day before.
Prior to that, he delivered an open letter to the Assistant Head of State, Ali Hasanov, accusing him and the media under his control of embezzling large amounts of money when building a house for journalists, and violating freedom of speech and expression. -02D-
