Food Safety Agency Appeals to Population in Connection with Gurban Bayram
Baku / 14.08.18 / Turan: The Food Safety Agency appealed to the population in connection with the forthcoming Gurban Bayram (Sacrificial Offering) holiday. The Agency called on those engaged in slaughtering to do so in specially designated points for this purpose, allotted by local executive bodies.
In accordance with the decree of the President of Azerbaijan of June 11, 2018, "On the regulation of slaughtering", in order to prevent slaughter in the streets and on the outskirts of the roads, local authorities were instructed to create special modern facilities.
This year Gurban Bayram will be celebrated on August 22-23. These days in Azerbaijan are declared days off.
Festive prayers (namaz) will be held on the morning of August 22 at 8.00 in the mosque Ejderbey and at 9.00 in the mosque Taza Pir.
Gurban Bayram (or Eid al-Adha) is one of the two important Islamic holidays. It marks the completion of the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca. -06D--
