Baku / 18.08.20 / Turan: A young activist of the Popular Front Party Fuad Ahmedli was released early this morning from prison number 16 after a 4-year prison term.
The activist said that he would continue the political struggle in the ranks of the Popular Front Party. Before his arrest, he underwent two operations, and in prison his condition worsened even more - he lost much weight and deteriorated his eyesight.
Nevertheless, the activist maintains good spirits and is ready to fight for the rights of all other political prisoners for their release.
* Fuad Ahmedli was arrested in August 2016 on charges of "violating the law on operational search activities" and disseminating personal information of Azerfon mobile phone users. In addition, he was charged with abuse of power.
He was sentenced to 4 years in prison on June 16, 2017. Later, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court upheld the verdict. Human rights activists recognized Ahmedli as a political prisoner.
The courts twice denied Fuad Ahmedli's parole. –03B06-

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
