Lawyer of Bakhtiyar Hajiyev spoke about violence in the pre-trial detention center of Kurdakhany

Baku/21.12.22/Turan: The lawyer of the public activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev, Agyl Laij, announced the violation of the rights of his rights and the rights of his client in the pre-trial detention center of Kurdakhany. This was expressed in the fact that violence was used against him by the administration of the pre-trial detention center and the notes that he made during the conversation with his client were taken away from him. The lawyer wrote about this on his Facebook page.

“On December 19, in the Baku pre-trial detention center, the deputy head of this institution, Rashad Ahmedov, forcibly took away my papers with notes made at a meeting with Bakhtiyar Hajiyev. Thus, confidentiality and legal protection were violated,” the lawyer wrote.

The lawyer believes that the deputy head should be punished for interfering in the professional activities of a lawyer and for arbitrariness, he must be brought to disciplinary responsibility. The lawyer intends to go to court and bring the case to the ECHR.

It was not possible to get a comment from the Penitentiary Service, in whose department the pre-trial detention center is located. ----16D----
