Lawyers demand an excuse for Farman Ceyranli
Baku/06.02.18/Turan: "He is not responsible for any of the accusations in the criminal case of Farman Ceyranli. He must be acquitted," stated his lawyer Gela Nikolashvili at today's trial in the Tbilisi city court on the case of the Azerbaijani surgeon arrested in Georgia, founder of the Lancet clinic Farman Ceyranli. Information of Turan in connection with the trials was reported by Lala Huseynli, the daughter of Ceyranli, and political activist Dashgin Agalarly, who lives in Tbilisi.
According to them, at today's trial, the lawyers' speech was heard, which commented on the previously voiced speech of the state prosecutor. The lawyers completely rejected the charges brought against their client under articles 180 and 247 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (fraud and concealment of information leaks posing a danger to human life and health).
Lawyers said that the basis of the arrest of the surgeon is political background. They stated at the court that all the decisions taken so far against the Azerbaijani surgeon were ugly and illegal.
"Farman Ceyranli is the founder of the clinic, and he is presented as a director. The director of the clinic "Lancet" is a completely different person. The founder does not bear any responsibility for what is stated in the case file. He was not an attending physician and did not perform any operations. He did not even have the right to make consultations to patients," lawyers said at the trial, Dashgyn Agalarli said.
According to him, lawyers even accused the state prosecutor of intending to incite ethnic hatred. The prosecutor could not refute this accusation.
After the speeches of the lawyers, the trial was postponed, on February 8, Ceyranli will come out with the last word. It is expected that on the same day the surgeon will read the verdict. -0-
