Baku / 03.06.19 / Turan: Health Minister Oktay Shiraliyev sued Internet TV journalist "Kanal 8" Teymur Kermov, accusing him of defamation. The trial will be held on June 7 in the Nasimi court.
Kerimov told the "Azadlig" Radio that the minister accuses him under the Article 147.2 (slander) and asks the court to bring the journalist to trial.
Responding the request of Turan on the issue, the Ministry of Health responded that there will be a statement in connection with the above.
On May 18, journalist Teymur Karimov held a rally in front of the Ministry of Health to raise money for his mother"s treatment. He argued that bribery reigns in the health care system.
The Ministry of Health, in turn, claims that Kerimov"s mother is treated at public expense, and all the charges are groundless.
The journalist noted that he would submit to the court the evidence of what he said. "I filmed the transfer of a bribe to a doctor and presented it to the court. Necessary medicines do not give my mother. Let the minister confirm that at least one of these medicines was given out to my mother," said Karimov. -0-
