MRI condemns arbitrary inspectors of the Transport Ministry
Media Rights Institute (MRI) issued a statement condemning the violence and insult by the employees of Ministry of Transport against the famous actor Ilgar Jahangirli.
The MRI noted that everyone has the right to look for, receive, and send information , and the restrictions of this freedom entails liability.
Unfortunately over the last year, none serious fact of violation in Azerbaijan has been fairly investigated. None of those persons who exerted pressure on those who wanted to use the freedom of information, has been brought to trial, despite many evidence. "The culture of impunity encourages further attacks on those who make public the facts of lawlessness," reads the statement of the MRI.
The Institute called on the authorities to promptly investigate lawlessness against Jahangirli and punish the guilty. -16D-
