Museum of Armenian History Opens In Tabriz
Yerevan/30.05.13/Turan-Arm info: A museum dedicated to the history of the Armenians living in the province of East Azerbaijan will open in Tebriz, according to news agency IRNA, citing the General Director of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Turab Mohammadi.
The museum will present artifacts that reflect the lifestyle of Armenians in various periods of history, said Mohammadi. "We had talks with the Council of the caliphate of Armenians living in the province of East Azerbaijan. We have agreed to transfer to the museum historical artifacts collected in one of the churches of Tabriz" Mohammadi said, adding that the museum will be located in an Armenian school "Asadi", which is considered a historical monument in Tabriz.
"Restoration works will be done in the school "Asadi", and it will function as a museum. The exhibits collected in the museum have been donated by Armenian families, the most ancient artifacts over 500 years,” concluded Mohammadi. -02D-
