New charges against APFP deputy chairman
The investigation in the case of the APFP deputy chairman Fuad Gahramanli completed, but new charges were filed against him under the Article 220.2 (incitement to mass disorder), told his lawyer Nemat Karimli. Previously, he was accused of inciting against the government (Article 281) and religious hatred (Article 283.)
Gahramanli was arrested in December 2015 in connection with the Nardaran events of November 26, when in the course of the special operation was detained the leader of the "Muslim unity" Movement Thale Bagirzade and a group of his companions. During clashes with police, six people were killed, including two policemen.
After that the authorities arrested dozens of Bagirzade’s supporters. Later, they accused Gahramanli of involvement in riots. The reason became publication of the deputy chairman of APFP in social networks calling on Nardaran residents to protect their rights. International organizations and local observers say the charges are politically motivated and far-fetched. -06В-
