New international airport terminal in Baku

Yesterday opened a new terminal building of the International Airport of the capital. Its construction began in March 2011. Contractor of construction work was the company MAPA, supplier - SITA. The company WAAGNER-BIRO completed the design and built the facade, the architects Woods Bagot and the engineers Buro Happold installed structural and seismic systems. The company AUTOBAN created interior design , VANDERLANDE created baggage management system, CAVAG set a platform for entering passengers and aerobridges and SCHINDLER created elevators and escalators .

The new complex is capable of handling 6 million passengers a year, with an area of ​​65,000 square meters.

The first floor serves departing passengers and baggage claim arrivals. The second floor of the complex is provided for arriving passengers. Here is the border control, security checks of transit passengers, issuing visas, as well as recreation area for arriving passengers.

The third floor provides for sending passengers through customs and border control. On this floor there are Duty Free shops and cafes. And the fourth floor of the terminal building has a bar and café for passenger service "business class ", equipped with communications equipment and rooms for meetings.

The aerobridges are capable of accepting 12 aircraft simultaneously. Two ladders are provided for receiving the world's largest passenger aircraft - Airbus A380.

At the moment the Baku International Airport operates flights to 33 airports in 15 states. In 2013, the International Airport of Baku transported 2,857,000 passengers. At the new airport complex there was also built parking for 750 cars.
