Over the past week 93 antipersonnel, 33 anti-tank mines have been defused
Baku/24.05.21/Turan: 93 anti-personnel mines, 33 anti-tank and 873 unexploded military shells were neutralized in Terter, Agdam, Fizuli, Shushi, Gubadli, Jabrail and Zangelan regions from 17 to 22 May, according to the weekly information ANAMA. An area of 2,436,776 m² (243 hectares) has been freed from mines and artificial forces. As you know, hostilities between the Armed Forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan began on September 27, 2020 and ended on November 10.
On April 30 this year, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that from November 10 to April 30, 22 people died from mines and illegal weapons, 100 people were injured.
According to official statistics, in 2020, 2,439 people suffered from dangerous explosive remnants of the war in Azerbaijan, of which 383 were killed and 2,056 were injured.
In the liberated territory of Azerbaijan, in the part where Armenians currently live, the Ministry of Defense of Russia is conducting mine clearance, and in the part where Azerbaijanis live, the Azerbaijani mine clearing agency, Azerbaijani, Russian and Turkish military.
According to experts, there are more than one hundred thousand mines in the liberated territories. -03-
