On January 12 a private of the Security Section of the Penitentiary Service Rzayev Joshgun born in 1990 died as a result of careless handling of weapons. As Turan was reported in the press section of the Penitentiary Service, the accident was a result of careless handling of the automatic gun.
A criminal case was filed under Article 125 of the Criminal Code (incitement to suicide). -16D-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
