People Arriving at Youth Football Championship of Europe to Receive Visas at Airports
The Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on simplification of visa procedures for foreigners and stateless persons who arrive in the country in connection with the final part of the European football championship among boys under 17 years old.
According to the document, people arriving at the European championship will be able to obtain visas from consular departments of the MFA of Azerbaijan, located at the international airports of the country.
The reasons for obtaining visas in a simplified procedure are: an official letter of invitation of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA); a document confirming the passage of accreditation in accordance with the relevant rules of UEFA; tickets for the matches of the final stage of the European Football Championship among juniors up to 17 years or proof of purchase of the ticket.
Facilitation of visa issuance in connection with organizational issues will be valid from April 1 to June 1, 2016. Members of the delegation and the teams participating in the final stage of the European Championship will be able to enter for the simplified procedures from 20 April to 25 May. Accredited journalists and owners of tickets for the matches will be able to get a visa from 1 to 25 May.
On February 15 the Azerbaijani President also signed a decree "On provision of the final stage of the European Football Championship U-17 in the Republic of Azerbaijan." The document defines the tasks of various ministries and agencies.
Note that the final stage of the FIFA U-17 15th European Championship will be held in Baku from 5 to 21 May. The European Championship will be attended by 16 teams, which will be divided into 4 groups. The teams ranked 1-2 places in the groups will continue to fight for the cup system. The winner will be determined in the final match.
The matches will be held at 4 stadiums - Olympic Stadium Baku, Bakcell Arena, Dalga Arena and the stadium named after Tofig Ismayilov in the Surakhani settlement.
The Azerbaijani team won the right to participate in the European Championship without the participation in the qualifying round at the owner's rights. The remaining 15 participants of the championship will be revealed during the qualifying round. -06D--
