Razi Alışov
Baku/30.05.22/Turan: Member of the Party of People's Front of Azerbaijan (PPFA) Razi Alyshov was detained in the western city of Ganja on 28 May.
According to the PPFA, he was detained by officers of the Nizami district police department.
"Family members were told that Alyshov was detained due to a drug investigation. On May 29, Alyshov's apartment was searched with video footage. The activist's mother was forced to sign some paper and was not allowed to take her glasses to read what was written," said the PPFA.
Alyshov has been detained for 48 hours which will expire at 9 p.m. Monday.
If he is charged, Alyshov will appear in court for a measure of restraint.
PPFA believes that the activist is being prosecuted for his political activity.
It was impossible to get a comment from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Baku/30.05.22/Turan: President Ilham Aliyev has expressed his condolences to President of Iran Ibrahim Raisi on the victims of a building collapse in
Abadan.
"On behalf of myself and the Azerbaijani people, I express my deep condolences to you, the families and loved ones of the victims, to all the Iranian people in connection with the tragedy, I wish the injured to recover," the message said.
To recall, the bodies of 29 people were found under the debris of the multi-storey building. Clearance of the rubble continues. -0-
