Evaluation of their visits to Azerbaijan by foreign officials, the difference between groups on the social and material basis, and the problem of water supply in Baku are the leading topics of today's press.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes that in 2016, Azerbaijan was visited by the leaders of 15 countries, 13 prime ministers, officials of 42 countries, and representatives of 26 international organizations. The author lists their names.
In 2016, 27 new foreign ambassadors to Azerbaijan were appointed. A total of 59 Azerbaijani embassies, 9 consulates, and 5 offices work abroad.
The website Azadliq.info has published an article entitled "How the population of Azerbaijan lives." The article presents evaluations on this subject from the economist Gubad Ibadoglu, which divides the population into 6 groups. The first group includes the very rich, the second - just the rich, the third – the largest owners and managers of large well-known companies, the fourth – the small and medium-sized businesses, the fifth - the poor, and the sixth - the extremely poor.
Novoye Vremya has published an article devoted to the problem of drinking water supply in the capital.
Azerbaijan is at 70% supplied with water from the border rivers, which creates certain difficulties. During the period from 2011 to 2014 the country's water infrastructure was spent 2.7 billion manat (3.4 billion dollars). The only way to improve the efficiency of the water supply infrastructure is efficiency of the investment and responsibility of Azersu to the consumers.

As part of the struggle against illegal migration in Baku city, operative actions were carried out at different addresses. The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.

On July 25, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense accused Armenia of "provoking" by deploying heavy weapons in Kalbajar and quadcopters in the Tovuz direction. The ministry also expressed dissatisfaction and concern over Armenia's military cooperation with Western countries.

During the operation of the Main Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 5 members of an organized group engaged in drug trafficking were detained. All of them have previous convictions: Bahlul Ismayilov, Royal Aliyev, Khayal Aliyev, Samir Aghayev, and Ali Mammadli.
