Bizim Yol writes about the likelihood of construction of an airport in Guba. The expert Natig Jafarli believes it is illogical, as this solution has no economic justification. Initial steps were taken last year to identify an area for the construction of the airport on 600 hectares.
Though local residents believe that the construction of the airport will bring them favor, experts say otherwise. To attract tourists to the region the airport is not a major factor, says Natig Jafarli.
If we follow this logic, today thousands of tourists would be visiting Lankaran, Zagatala, Gandja, Nakhchivan and Gabala.
However, in Lankaran there is only one flight a week, and it is from there to Moscow. Airplanes do not fly from Lankaran to Baku.
Instead of developing gardening traditional for the Guba region, or investing in agriculture, the authorities are building an airport there.

Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
