Problems of Mehman Huseynov Promised to Be Solved
Baku / 15.05.17 / Turan: This week, an examination and treatment of the imprisoned blogger Mehman Huseynov is planned, said his lawyer Elchin Sadigov, who visited the defendant in Prison No. 14 on May 13.
As is known, the blogger has problems with veins; the situation has been aggravated in prison conditions and he needs to be operated on.
Mehman Huseynov is promised to return the identity card withdrawn from him in the Sabail District Police Department five years ago. Despite numerous appeals, he has never been returned the identity card.
Let us recall that on March 3, 2017, by the decision of the Surakhani court, Huseynov was sentenced to two years of imprisonment.
Earlier, on January 9, he was abducted in the city center by policemen. He was held in the 22nd police precinct of the Nasimi district, accused of disobeying the police. The Nasimi court fined him for 200 manats.
After leaving the police, Huseynov told about the torture and filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office. After that, Musa Musayev, the chief of the Nasimi district police, accused the blogger of slander and sued him. On the basis of this particular claim, the blogger was imprisoned for a period of 2 years.
The defense sent a complaint to the court that the prosecutor's office did not initiate a criminal investigation into the facts of torture. However, the Sabail court and the Court of Appeal did not respond to the complaint properly.
Meanwhile, the blogger's colleagues are convinced that the real reason for Mehman"s imprisonment is his video report mocking Mehriban Aliyeva's appointment as the country's Vice-President. -0-
