Prosecutors Office Suddenly Decided to Protect Family of Fuad Gahramanli
Baku / 16.10.19 / Turan: The country's Prosecutor General"s office suddenly decided to respond to social media posts where members of the family of the PFPA deputy chairman Fuad Gahramanli accused him of domestic violence.
The Prosecutor General"s Office said in this regard that, according to the wife, Zumrud Gahramanli, in 2010 her husband broke the knee of his daughter Sanay, and in 2013 broke her finger.
"Given the nature of the crime committed against a minor and helpless person, the Prosecutor"s Office conducted an appropriate investigation based on the requirements of the criminal procedure law.
The registration journal of the Baku Clinical Medical Center shows that Sanay Gahramanli entered the center in January 2010 with a crack in her right knee.
For the purpose of a full investigation, the Prosecutor General opened a criminal case under Articles 133.2.1. (Causing physical or mental suffering by systematic beating of two or more persons) and 133.2.4 (Torture against a minor). The investigation was transferred to the Prosecutor's Office of the Absheron district (crime scene).
Note that on October 1, Gahramanli"s wife denied the statement of the Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov about violence against her and her daughter.
"I do not intend to make a broad comment about the tricks of the NGO and Zakir Garalov. I will also turn to Zakir Garalov in the near future with a request to begin investigations into torture in the "bandit department" (Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs). And I will appeal to the NGO that volunteered to protect me and my daughter to support my request," the woman wrote on her Facebook page, making it clear that she did not intend to complain of her husband to law enforcement. -06D-

Baku, often called the "Caucasian Dubai," is increasingly known for systematic violations of residents' housing rights. During urban renovations and the construction of elegant new buildings, thousands of families in Azerbaijan’s capital have been unlawfully deprived of their homes. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
