Rector ordered murder of vice-rector - Prosecutor's Office
After 12 years, law enforcement agencies have solved the murder of Tariel Ahmedov, vice-rector of the now closed "Tafakkur" university.
The press service of the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan reports that the investigation has established reasonable suspicion that the rector of the university, currently executive director of the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education Mushvig Aleskerov, ordered the murder.
According to the investigation, the rector saw in Akhmedov "a threat to his position".
He commissioned his relative Dayanat Guliyev to carry out the murder for money, and the latter engaged his fellow villager Samir Guliyev.
Atakishiev (customer) and Guliyev (perpetrator) have been remanded to pre-trial detention on charges of committing murder for profit. Dayanat Guliyev was previously arrested in April this year.
Recall that T.Akhmedov was killed on 16 September 2011.
