Relatives of political prisoners complain about ineffective medical care
Baku/27.04.18/Turan: A number of activists in jail are experiencing health problems, but they do not receive serious medical assistance, announced on April 26 at a meeting organized by the Coordination Center for Families of Prisoners and the Union of Intelligentsia of Azerbaijan.
Zumrud Yagmur, the wife of the convicted deputy PFPA Fuad Gahramanly, said that the health of the arrested Shamil Abdulaliyev, Jabbar Jabbarov, journalist Afgan Sadigov, the PFPA activist Elnur Farajev is most worried.
Abdulaliyev"s health is also serious. One leg of him was very thin and shortened by 10 cm. In addition, he had two bullets left in his body that hit him during a special operation in Nardaran on November 26, 2015. Now he is in a medical institution of the Ministry of Justice, but he does not have real medical help.
Jabbarov, suffering from liver disease, is kept in the Gobustan prison, in a cell where the ceiling is strewn. Faradjev suffers from an oncology. He was placed in jail N3 where are kept patients diseased with tuberculosis. His family is not informed about his health. Journalist Sadigli does not have a blood pressure below 200/100, and his legs are swollen, his wife said.
Nardaran resident Abdulfaz Bunyadov, also wounded during the Nardaran operation, reported that he was being taken to court on a stretcher. His relatives are not allowed to visit him, so he does not have anyone to bathe. He had new bedsores. Human rights activist Ogtay Gyulaliyev said that a life-term sentenced member a special police detachment, Elchin Amiraslovnov, went on a hunger strike because of a lack of treatment.
The human rights activist proposed to launch a public campaign: "To cure political prisoners!"
The editor of the Khural newspaper, Avaz Zeynalli, suggested that human rights activists, along with families of political prisoners, go to prisons, seeking meetings with them.
The meeting resulted in forming a group consisting of Nigar Yagublu, Eldaniz Guliyev, Zumrug Yagmur, Avaza Zeynalli, who appeal to international organizations and the Prison Service to demand the provision of effective medical assistance to sick prisoners.
In turn, the Penitentiary Service stated that the main department of the Ministry of Justice is engaged in the treatment of prisoners, and they receive the necessary medical assistance, and if there is a need, they are transferred to a medical institution. -06B--

On Tuesday, the General Prosecutor's Office announced the initiation of new criminal cases against agricultural product exporters who allegedly concealed their earnings abroad.
