The reduction of about 800 workers at the refineries of the country is quite real, Turan was told by the Chairman of the Committee for Protection of the Rights of Oilmen, Mirvari Gahramanli.
About 400 people will be reduced at the plant named after Heydar Aliyev and the same will be at the Baku Refinery.
The reason for the sacking is reducing the volume of production and processing and obsolete equipment.
Gahramanli accused SOCAR of creating a difficult situation in the oil industry. According to her, the sacking in SOCAR began at the end of last year.
SOCAR leadership promised to provide jobs for people facing staff reduction, but did not.
Gahramanli argues that for vacancies they take not professionals, but relatives of SOCAR leadership, thus creating "an army of amateurs."
According to the human rights activist, the staff reduction will continue as the Baku Oil Refinery will close completely. -05B04-
