Saleh Rustamov's health conditions continue to deteriorate
Baku/18.11.21/Turan: A protracted hunger strike has started to have negative effect on health conditions of the imprisoned former head of the executive power of the Gadabey region, Saleh Rustamov, according to his relatives.
It should be remembered that Rustamov who has been on hunger strike for the 13 days, had a sharp drop in blood pressure and increased pain in his body. He lost 15 kg in weight, has rapid pulse and wounds in his mouth.
On November 17, Rustamov met with his brothers and told them not to come and see to him anymore.

* PPFA supporter Saleh Rustamov was arrested in May 2018 and sentenced to 7 years and 3 months of imprisonment in the so-called case of "illegal financing of PPFA". Human rights activists recognized him as a political prisoner. Later on, the Supreme Court reduced the sentence by 2 months. Since 6 November, he has been on an indefinite hunger strike demanding his release. -06D-

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony. The invitation, delivered by Member of the European Parliament Michael Bloss at the COP29 climate conference, comes as Ibadoglu remains under house arrest and prohibited from leaving Azerbaijan.
