Sardar Alibeili suddenly ceased to consider himself a political prisoner
Sardar Alibeili, convicted editor of Nota Bene, addressed to the heads of the media and opposition leaders and called to remove his name and photo from the list of "prisoners of conscience."
In his appeal spread by the Prison Service Alibeili notes that "the geopolitical situation today has acquired quite a dangerous character, and Azerbaijan may become a target of aggressive terrorism and transnational groups, seeking to re-divide the world."
"At best, it promises us the situation in Ukraine, and at worst – Syria," believes Alibeili.
Therefore, he called on the opposition and all the social and political forces "to unite in the interest of the state," to depart from the hostile rhetoric and move to cooperate with the slogan “Peace at home, peace in the world.”
Further, he is concerned with the last resolution of the European Parliament and the "buzz" that emerged around it.
Recall that the editor of PS Nota and online-edition PS.nota.com Alibeili was arrested July 31, 2013
November 13 of the same year the Khatai District Court sentenced Alibeili to four years in prison, finding him guilty under article 221.3 (hooliganism with the use of weapons or objects used as weapons). In the course of the investigation and at the trial the journalist denied the accusation, saying that he is being persecuted for political reasons.
According to him, the true reason for his arrest was the publication on the website www.psnota.com of an article titled “July 22 - the last day of the free national press.”
Alibeili wrote that the people writing the truth are in the dungeons, and the corrupt press receives gifts in money and apartments. In his article, he called the enemies of the Azerbaijani press - "an organized criminal group in power."
The publication was accompanied by a collage, which depicted the country's leaders and law enforcement agencies.
Following his arrest, Alibeili was defended by a number of local and international human rights organizations.
Many activists defending Alibeili are themselves behind the bars now.
It is possible that in the future Alibeili will appear in the list of pardoned or amnestied people, as well as several other political prisoners calling on to rally around the government. -06B-

Baku, often called the "Caucasian Dubai," is increasingly known for systematic violations of residents' housing rights. During urban renovations and the construction of elegant new buildings, thousands of families in Azerbaijan’s capital have been unlawfully deprived of their homes. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
