Scandal Surrounding Beating of Young Woman in City Center
The Baku city prosecutor's office appealed the decision of the court of Khatai to release the two young men who beat Ulkar Isayeva on the night of March 9. The protest will be considered at today's meeting of the Baku Court of Appeal, said the spokesperson of the Prosecutor General's Office Eldar Sultanov.
On March 9 at 04:25 the brothers Zaur and Elin Mammadov, intoxicated, for no reason pulled their friend Ulkar Isayeva out of the Bentley car at the intersection of U.Hajibekov Street and Azadlig Avenue and began beating her on the hands and feet, and dragged her on the ground. Despite the intervention of citizens, they continued to beat her, the report by the prosecutor's office says.
12 March the above-mentioned persons were detained on the basis of the submission of the Main Police Department of Baku, the capital Prosecutor's Office asked the court to draw the brothers Mammadovs as defendants under Article 221.2 (hooliganism) and authorize their arrest.
March 14 Khatai Court Judge Razia Atasheva decided to release the brothers Mammadov in the courtroom.
However, the prosecutor's office appealed the decision by filing an appeal. It should be noted that Ulkar Isayeva is the daughter of the rector of the University Khazar Hamlet Isakhanli.
This incident was captured by police surveillance cameras and hit the social networks, causing great public interest.
However, until now no clear cause of the conflict is known. It is not clear what caused the dissatisfaction of the Mammadovs and why they acted so roughly with their friend. -16B-
