Ilham Aliyev Leaves for Turkey
President Ilham Aliyev left March 17 for a working visit to Turkey.
As stated on the website of the President, he will visit the city of Kars, where the TANAP pipeline groundbreaking ceremony will take place.
Recall that this transnational gas pipeline is designed to transport Azerbaijani gas through Georgia and Turkey to the border with Europe, and from there it will go to Greece, Bulgaria, Albania and Italy.
The total volume of gas transported annually will be 16 billion cubic meters. Its putting into operation is expected in 2018. The project cost is estimated at 11 billion dollars.
The owners of the pipeline are SOCAR - 58% (Azerbaijan), Turkish Botas (30%) and British BP (12%). -16D-
