Schools of Azerbaijan limit access to 18 million websites
Azerbaijani secondary schools have limited access to 18 million Web sites that contain harmful information. The filtering was introduced by the program Web Sense, which was established under the State Program on Information Technologies in the educational system in Azerbaijan in 2008-2012.
According to the report of the Information Centre for ICT, the definition of the thematic groups of malicious Web-based resources was carried out "by the Council on the organization of Internet use and content filtering in educational institutions."
Access is limited to such web-based resources as pornography, violent behavior, extremism, promoting drugs and alcohol, as well as sites that do not match the ethical and moral standards of the younger generation.
At the same time, access to Web resources having a potential threat of virus attacks on computer systems has been restricted. -06D-
