Silence in the national TV space
On February 8 from 06:00 to 14:00 all TV channels of Azerbaijan stopped broadcasting. According to the information department of the "Teleradio" restriction is due to maintenance work.
Such a preventive maintenance on TV takes place every three months in order to "strengthen the equipment, cleaning and setting it," said the department "Teleradio". Today, a break was made to check the technical condition of the equipment, the report says.
An expert in the field of Media Rights Alasgar Mammadli considers that the simultaneous cessation of all national television channels broadcast a half-day is not legitimate, and is wrong step from the point of view of information security in Azerbaijan.
"The air TV space of the country was plunged into silence because of the monopoly in broadcasting. This is a great disadvantage in terms of information security and is contrary to the law," he wrote on his page in Facebook.-06D-
