Situation in Foreign Exchange Market
To change manat for dollar in exchange offices in the city center is still almost impossible. Some exchange offices still refuse to buy or sell currency at the new prices. Most often, they explain the refusal with the absence of manat, orders from the Central Bank or exchange rate expectations.
During the survey in banks and exchange offices in Khagani Street and on Azadlig Avenue Turan revealed the following situation:
The departments of Capital Bank and the International Bank of Azerbaijan did not sell dollars.
In Khagani Street dollar was not sold in Khalg Bank. In Tekhnika Bank in the same street 1 USD is sold for 1 manat, in AFB Bank $ 1 – 1.291 manat, in Bank Respublika $ 1 – 1.290 manat.
Opposite the central office of Capital Bank in Fizuli Street there is still a huge queue of people wishing to exchange dollars for manat.
On February 24 the Central Bank slightly raised the US dollar, which is $ 1 per 1.0501 manat today.
In the shops selling handsets prices jumped by 30%. Sellers complain that over the past four days they could not sell a single phone. -03B04-
