Six Azerbaijani weightlifters disqualified because of doping
The doping scandal has come to Azerbaijan after five weightlifters were disqualified until 2023 by the decision of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), and one - until 2019.Athletes are convicted of doping use last year's World Cup in Houston, said the IWF. In particular, up to 2023 have been disqualified Elkhan Aligulizade, Silvia Angelova, Firudin Guliyev, Valentin Hristov, and Intigam Zaire. Until 2019 was Dadash Dadashbeyli disqualified. Hrist is the bronze medalist of the 2012 Olympic Games. The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan was not able to accept the blame for the incident and trying to justify himself.
