SOCAR is investigating the causes of the sickness of residents of Lokbatan
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has created a special commission to investigate the causes of poisoning of the villagers of Lokbatan with natural gas.
The report notes that on 5 March at 10.30 in connection with the repair work was suspended gas supply to the village Lokbatan. Gas supply through the pipeline was restored at 18.00 and "according to the current standards in order to detect leaks and prevent loss of gas," it was mixed with a special substance - an odorant. As a result, the residents of several buildings in Askerov Street "were observed nausea." In regard to the incident , a special commission of experts of SOCAR was formed to investigate the causes of the incident . The commission is working on multiple versions of the reasons that led to the widespread sickness among the residents of Lokbatan. The final conclusion of the commission will be presented to the public.
At the same time the SOCAR report says that no serious impact of the odorant on the human body was revealed. -16D06 -
