The Supreme Court of Azerbaijan scheduled examination of the appeal of the convicted journalist Parviz Hashimli for October 27.

The case will be considered by the jury of judges chaired by Farhad Kerimov, the lawyer Elchin Sadigov told Turan.

On December 24, 2015 the Baku Court of Appeal upheld the verdict.

Hashimli states that another defendant in the case Gurbanov slandered him. Human rights activists have recognized Hashimli a political prisoner. -16 / 06D-
