Thaleh Baghirzadeh Imprisoned in Solitary Confinement

Contained in the Kurdakhani jail, the Muslim Unity movement’s leader Thaleh Baghirzadeh has been imprisoned in solitary confinement. He said this today during the trial in the Court of Grave Crimes on the "Nardaran case."

According to the lawyer Yalchin Imanov, his client was put in a punishment cell for 5 days.

Baghirzadeh at the trial said that after the spread in the media of his address to the faithful in connection with the advent of the month of Muharram (mourning month for the Shiites), officers came to his cell, asking why he made this appeal.

Then he was put in solitary confinement and accused that he had obstructed a search in the cell.

"This demonstrates once again that the arrest of Baghirzadeh is linked to his political activities and criticism," said the lawyer.

At today's meeting, Baghirzadeh’s deputy Abbas Huseynov insisted on the disqualification of the Prosecutor. The judges left the courtroom to consider this. The process continues.
