The accused in the case of AMAY say the last word
The trial in the case of Abdulla Abdullayev, the head of the shopping center AMAY and five other defendants continued on Tuesday.
Today the accused sais their last word. The main defendant Abdulla Abdullayev has pleaded not guilty, saying he did not accept the charges against him. He also stated the innocence of the other defendants.
The defendants: Nadezhda Ilyasova and Vidadi Gurbanov stated their innocence, and called on the court to acquit them.
Elshan Novruzov, Mehman Mammadkhanli Heydar Rzayev, Anar Aliyev asked the court to give them time to prepare for the last word. The judge Afgan Hajiyev scheduled the next hearing for September 7.
Abdulla Abdullayev, was arrested on April 4, 2014. The head of the company and the rest are accused of fraud, misappropriation, legalization of dirty money, abuse of authority.
The state prosecutor asked the court to convict Abdullayev to 14 years of imprisonment, and the rest – to 9 or 10 years. -05C04-

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony.
