The court refused to accept the complaint against the journalist into criminal proceedings

Today, January 6, the pre-election campaign for municipal elections in Azerbaijan, scheduled for 23 days later, has officially begun. So far, 16,174 candidates have been registered, according to Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC), speaking at a meeting about the elections on January 6. Of these, 8,429 candidates represent 23 political parties.

According to a statement from the State Border Service, an attempt to smuggle drugs into Azerbaijan was prevented during an operational search. The seizure included 700 grams of opium, over 13,000 tablets of Pregabalin 150, and 600 tablets of Methadone 40. The exact location and time of the incident have not been disclosed.

On January 7, no precipitation is expected in the capital during the day. However, by evening, rain will be possible in some areas. The wind will be from the northeast, shifting to the southeast later. The temperature will drop at night to +4 to +6°C, with daytime temperatures ranging from +7 to +10°C. Humidity will be between 65-75%.

Currently, an unfavorable situation regarding metapneumovirus, a respiratory illness, is observed in China, Kazakhstan, and Russia. The symptoms of this virus include cough, runny nose, high fever, shortness of breath, and hoarseness, which are common to many other acute respiratory viral infections.
