The defense filed an appeal against the arrest of Bakhtiyar Hajiyev
Baku/12.12.22/Turan: On December 12, an appeal was filed against the arrest of Bakhtiyar Hajiyev, his lawyer Agyl Laij told Turan, after meeting with the activists in pre-trial detention center (SIZO-1) in the village of Kurdakhani.
According to the lawyer, Hajiyev has no complaints about the conditions of detention and treatment. He categorically denies the charges brought against him and believes that "the true purpose of the arrest is to limit his communications with international organizations."
O Monday, representatives of public and political organizations of the country decided to create a committee in defense of Hajiyev. Until the formation of its composition, human rights activist Rufat Safarov will coordinate the work in this direction.
On December 9, the Khatai Court of Baku arrested public activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev for a period of investigation for 1 month and 20 days. The activist is charged with hooliganism and disrespect for the court. He faces up to 3 years in prison. —03B06-
