The headquarters "Kura" asks for support from the OSCE
Civil Staff of «Kura" civil society appealed to the head of OSCE Office in Baku Koray Targay due to the arrest of civil activist, and human rights defender Ilham Amiraslanov.
The appeal noted that Amiraslanov was arrested on June 8 this year, and in the course of an unlawful arrest he faced physical violence and inhuman treatment.
At present, he has not been examined in the Baku prison, despite health problems. Medical examination was formal, had visual character and no measures have been taken for his treatment.
After numerous appeals to the relevant structures, Ilham Amiraslanov was examined, but the expert's conclusion is not disclosed. Amiraslanov has damaged eardrums, severe pain in the ribs, headaches and weakness. He is not allowed to meet with family and lawyer. He is constantly taking pain killers; his life was in danger, Amiraslanov needs serious therapy, the appeal reads.
Headquarters "Kura" asked the head of OSCE Baku Office to pay serious attention to the fabricated case on Amiraslanov, to monitor his health, to visit him in prison, and to take, within its mandate, the steps for his immediate treatment.
Ilham Amiraslanov has been actively protecting the rights of victims of flooding in the area of Aran since 2010. He is accused of possessing weapons. -05D-
