The journalist complains of traffic police
A journalist of the newspaper "Azadlig" and a member of the creative team of the TV program "Azerbaijani hour", Natig Gulahmedoglu sent to the Interior Ministry an official complaint about the actions of the traffic police.
In his appeal he noted that on the eve be was attacked by traffic police while performing his professional duties. This happened when he was trying to take the images of the dispute between traffic police officer and a driver of private transport.
Seeing this, the police sergeant detained the reporter and forced into a police car, where he was held for an hour.
The press service of the Interior Ministry did not have information about Gulahmedoglu , and said that if such an appeal is received, they will consider it.
The Director of the Institute of Media Rights, Rashad Hajily, commenting on the incident Turan that preventing the lawful activities of a journalist is a criminal offense.
"However, until now, not even one policeman has been punished for it," said Hajili.-06D-
