The largest mosque of the country still does not work
“Heydar mosque”, which opened two months ago in the Binagadi district of Baku, still does not work. The reasons for this are not clear. During the opening, it was stated that the mosque was handed over to the Mayor's Office of Baku. However, until now the Mayor's Office has not taken a decision as who and how will manage this important religious sites in the capital and the country.
Toran agency failed to get comments at the City Hall and in the Caucasian Muslims Office.
A religious figure, who does not wanthis ma,eto puiblished called the situation "abnormal."
"The mosque there is for praying. If believers are not allowed there, why wasit built, spending huge amounts of money, calling it the largest in the Caucasus, and invited to the opening of hundreds of guests from all over the world? " said the religious figure.
The construction of the "Heydar mosque" started in 2012, and was commissioned in December 2014. The ceremony of the opening the mosque was attended by the president’s family.
* New Mosque covers an area of 12 thousand sq. meters, has completed the design of its facade, as well as the construction of four minarets 95 meters height.
Facade of the mosque is decorated in the style of the Shirvan-Absheron architecture, coming to the end of work inside the mosque, covering an area of 4200 square meters. On the dome of the mosque are engraved verses from the Koran. The main dome is 55 meters, the height of the second dome is 33 meters. -05D-
