The Minister of Health personally appealed to the court to punish the journalist
Baku/10.06.19/Turan: The Nasimi district court refused to accept the claim of the Ministry of Health against the journalist Teimur Karimov, who on May 18 held a single protest in front of this department, protesting against bribery in medical institutions.
Judge Babek Panahov explained the refusal to accept the claim that the Ministry of Health was a legal entity and could not file a lawsuit in the form of a private prosecution.
After that, the Minister of Health, Oqtay Shiraliyev himself, as an individual, sued the journalist. He demands to convict the journalist not only according to the Article 147.2 (slander), but also 148 (insult), insisting on maximum punishment.
The minister believes that the journalist slandered him, accusing him of "misappropriation", "accepting bribes", "human death".
Shiraliyev also disagrees with the statement of the journalist that the minister is abusing alcohol, condemns the doctors to begging, pits the medical staff against each other for money, etc. Judge Azer Tagiyev will consider the lawsuit of the minister on June 14.
* On May 18, Karimov held a single protest rally before the Ministry of Health. He stated that his seriously ill mother in state medical institutions was treated for money. Police detained him. A few hours later, Karimov was released, promising that on May 21 he would be received at the Ministry of Health. At the same time, the journalist was invited to the prosecutor's office, where he was interrogated about the transfer of bribes to doctors. On June 7, the journalist's mother passed away. -06-
