The National Council congratulates Leyla Yunus on her Birthday
The Coordination Centre of the National Council of Democratic Forces of Azerbaijan sent Leyla Yunus, the Director of the Institute of Peace and Democracy, congratulations on the occasion of her birthday - December 21. The NCJDF wished her health and fortitude. "We will do everything possible to accelerate her release, and we are confident that the efforts of all people of goodwill in Azerbaijan and in the world for her release in the near future will be successful," said the chairman of NCDF Jamil Hasanli.
At the last meeting the NCDF praised the merits of Leyla Yunus in the development of a free civil society and human rights in Azerbaijan.
Leyla Yunus was arrested on July 30, her husband Arif Yunusov, on August 5 this year, on a number of articles, including "high treason." The opposition and the international democratic community believe that such arrests are politically motivated, and demand their release.-0-
