"Though Center" discusses the crisis
The National Strategic Thought Center, headed by the former head of the party "Musavat" Isa Gambar, held a hearing on Wednesday : "The Crisis: Causes, Results, a way out."
Hearing coincided with a crisis situation created by the devaluation of the manat. The keynote speaker was the director of Turan news agency, Mehman Aliyev, reported on "Contemporary Challenges and Azerbaijan." He analyzed the situation in the country in close connection with the geopolitical and regional aspects.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, a new world order was established in the world, where the central stabilizing factor is the creation of advanced and affluent consumption societies, providing access to the prosperity of all individuals. Such societies are characterized by a large layer of the middle class, democracy, transparency, a high degree of economic and political freedoms.
However, 10 years ago with the start of production of "Big Oil" in Azerbaijan, the government made the wrong choice in favor of the formation of a closed economy, limiting freedoms. All this has caused the backlog of the country and entry into a crisis strip that IMF forecasts will last at least 5 years, Aliyev said.
In the debate most of the panelists focused attention on the situation after the devaluation of the manat, exposing sharp criticism the government, accusing it of defrauding the public and bring the country to a deep economic and political crisis.
Generalizing speech, Isa Gambar, called for the formation of public consensus on ways out of the crisis, and to develop steps to fight against the disastrous policies by authorities.-0-

Baku, often called the "Caucasian Dubai," is increasingly known for systematic violations of residents' housing rights. During urban renovations and the construction of elegant new buildings, thousands of families in Azerbaijan’s capital have been unlawfully deprived of their homes. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
