Three tons of heroin and a closed meeting of the State Commission to Combat Drug Addiction
Closed meeting of the State to combat drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking with participation of responsible persons of relevant bodies took place on August 14, according to state news agency Azertaj.
The meeting discussed the results of the investigation carried out on the basis of information received by July 11 from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia on the transit of a large number of drugs (588 kg of heroin, 11 kg of morphine, and 2 kg of codeine dissolved in 2800 liters of detergent) through the territory of Azerbaijan.
At the meeting were given appropriate instructions to continue the investigation and regularly informing the State Commission about it. It was noted that this issue is on the "daily control" of the President of Azerbaijan.
First time the Georgian side reported the detention of nearly three tons of heroin dissolved on July 11 this year. Then the authorities of Azerbaijan denied this fact, claiming there was nothing like that. State State-run media claimed that the drugs came from Armenia to Georgia.
Now it turns out that the Georgian side has informed the Azerbaijani authorities on the detention of a huge quantity of heroin on the same day!
It is also noteworthy that the Georgian side claims about the detention of more than 2800 kg of liquid heroin, while the Azerbaijani side argues that it is only 600 kg of drugs.
Despite numerous appeals of journalists to law enforcement agencies of Azerbaijan, they argued that there is no investigation. Now it turns out that all this time the investigation was conducted. Who conducted and what has been revealed is reported. The only good news is that personally the head of state controls the issue. -02D-

Baku, often called the "Caucasian Dubai," is increasingly known for systematic violations of residents' housing rights. During urban renovations and the construction of elegant new buildings, thousands of families in Azerbaijan’s capital have been unlawfully deprived of their homes. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
