Trial in the case of next group of defendants in Guba events
Preparatory trial in the case of another group of accused in Guba on March 1 began in the Guba District Court on Tuesday.
Seven people have been bright to trial. Four arrested are Akif Aliyev, Habil Aliyev, Safar Garibov, and Zimistan Amiraslanov. Three others, Telman Dadashev, Samir Abdullayev and Mamedgasan Akperov, have a signature not to leave the country.
The defendants are accused under the following Articles of the Criminal Code: 186.2.1 (destruction or damage to property of others in the large size), 233 (public nuisance), 315.2 (resistance to authority.) Akif Aliyev, who was an administrator of the Guba Olympic stadium complex also is accused under the Article 127.2.3 (causing of less serious harm to health.) The rights of the accused are protected by the state-appointed lawyers. Only Akif Aliyev has his lawyer, Asabali Mustafayev. The judge appointed trial for October 3.
Hearing in the case of two more groups of defendants, consisting of eight, and nine people, will continue on October 2 in Guba court.
On March 1, 2012, thousands of residents of Guba region angry with verbal abuse by the head of Guba region, Rauf Khabibov, went to streets to demand the resignation of Khabibov. The action turned into a riot in which Khabibov’s villa was burnt, and there were clashes with internal troops.—06D--

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
