On October 25th, 2012 a spectacular parade of powerful GT3 race cars will drive from the temporary street circuit near the seaside all the way up to the Kempinski Hotel Badamdar, the official hospitality partner of the event. The race cars will be on display in front of the hotel where an official press conference and presentation will be held and drivers will be presented to sign autographs for the spectators. The parade is the official kick-off for the three-day City Challenge event, which will see sports car races and demonstrations on a temporary street circuit around the famous Government House and a wide range of cultural activities.
For the past few days the drivers in central streets of Baku and pedestrians curse those who separated the wire mesh and concrete slabs of the future route of racing cars. All this increased traffic jams, and in some places has made it impossible to cross the street. - 02D-

During search and operational activities, on January 30 at 11:20, 16.4 kg of drugs were discovered and seized in the area of the "Geytapa" border post, located on the Iran-Azerbaijan border. According to the Azerbaijan Border Service, this prevented an attempt to smuggle into Azerbaijan 11.3 kg of marijuana, 5.1 kg of opium, and 1,990 methadone M-40 pills from Iran.
