Who is threatening the “daughter” of the French-Swiss holding in Azerbaijan?
Baku/03.17.20/Turan: “Holcim Azerbaijan” OJSC, which is part of Lafarge Holcim, a company operating in 80 countries of the world, stated that some criminal forces were putting pressure on its employees.
“Apparently transparent activity of our company interferes with interests and worries criminal forces, and in response they resort to illegal actions. Recently, executives of “Holcim Azerbaijan” OJSC received threatening messages, which is psychological pressure.
In addition, a foreign citizen holding a managerial position was pressured and attempted to inflict physical damage. In connection with the incident, there was an immediate appeal to law enforcement authorities and an investigation was launched. The corresponding diplomatic mission was also informed,” the statement said on the company's website.
The management of the company is convinced that the perpetrators will be identified in a short time and will be punished.
Along with Norm and Akkord, “Holcim Azerbaijan” OJSC is one of the three major cement producers in Azerbaijan.
It should be noted that for the first time a large foreign company in Azerbaijan publicly claims physical threats to its managers.
Lafarge Holcim was created in 2015 because of the merger of French Lafarge and Swiss Holcim.
In Azerbaijan, Holcim has been operating since the late 1990s, when it acquired the Garadagh cement plant. — 06B-
