German-French Week of Remembrance of the First World War

100 years ago the First World War broke out, but the former enemies are close partners and neighbors now. The Embassies of France and Germany in Baku will spend a week in memory of the centenary of the First World War. The week will begin on November 25 with a demonstration of the film "On the Southern Front, without Change," filmed on the basis of a novel by Erich Maria Remarque.

On the evening of November 26 with the participation of the National Academy of Sciences, there will be a presentation of the German historian Volker Venor.

On November 27 the singer Farida Mammadova will feature songs of the First World War and will read a letter from the German, French and British soldiers sent from the front in those years.

On November 28 there will be a presentation of the book «The war brought to light: 14-18 through stained glass" with the participation of the author Jean Claude Lescour.

Throughout the week, there will be displayed an exhibition of photographs of the First World War. Organizational support for the event comes from the British Council. -0-
